By completing this training, you’ll gain the confidence to act decisively in critical situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of those under your care.

This educator’s first aid course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
This course applies to a range of workers in an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies. This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school-age children.
Best of all, our approach to your training ensures that you will learn techniques and methods that can be used in real-world situations and not just in a simulated first aid scenario.
KEY INFORMATION
In accordance with the ARC guidelines and Safe Work Australia, you will need to undertake annual refresher training on the HLTAID009 unit (CPR component) of your first aid certification. You may also need to undertake annual or bi-annual asthma and anaphylaxis training.
PLEASE NOTE: Every employer is different. Depending on your organisation’s policies, this unit of competency may contribute toward approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011). If not, you will also need to enrol into the 22556VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks & Emergencies in the Workplace course AND the 225578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis course. You will have the option of enrolling in both these extra courses during this course’s enrollment process! If you are unsure, please check with your employer.
*The actual face-to-face in-class delivery time will vary depending on class discussions and participant numbers. We expect that your class will only take 6.5 hours (face to face) to complete; however, we ask that all our students allow a maximum of 7 hours in their schedules, just in case.
*The time required to complete our online (personal study) component will also vary between 3 to 6 hours. The actual time investment will depend on your previous experience and knowledge with first aid and on how much time you take to go through the extra learning materials available.

COURSE OUTLINES
Even though first aid is a serious topic, we pride ourselves on our fun, practical and engaging format that simulates real worlds scenarios. Our educator’s first aid courses contain a lot of valuable video content to ensure participants remain engaged rather than listening to war stories of the trainer’s past experiences.
Unlike many other first aid providers, our trainers go beyond teaching the ‘how’—they explain the ‘why.’ We take pride in our high-quality learning materials and engaging delivery style, ensuring every student leaves our course with the knowledge and confidence to apply what they’ve learned—both online and in the classroom—to real-world and workplace situations.
